The World Health Day celebration provide a platform for partner to celebrate gains and success achieved in Health and offer opportunity to advance SRHR needs of adolescents and young people among stakeholders
The event was commemorated at Drive- Inn Primary School off Thika Road in Ruaraka Sub county on the April 7th, 2018 from 10am-5 pm with the goal of this event is to reach at least 250 young people directly and 500 young people indirectly with SRH services such as FP services, HIV testing and counseling, STI treatment, Cervical and Breast cancer screening and PrEP and SRHR information through IEC materials and discussions facilitated by peer educators.
The event targeted adolescents and young people age 13- 24 years with key involvement of young people in mobilization , coordination and planning of the event Hence contributing towards the government’s commitment in reducing HIV new infections to ZERO.
Objective of the event
- To increase access and utilization of HTC services to adolescent and young people age 13- 24 years.
- To reach adolescent girls and young women with different methods of Family planning services.
- To provide information on ending stigma and discrimination for people living with HIV and promote messages on ending sexual gender base violence
- Link all newly adolescent and young people diagnosed HIV-positive clients to care and treatment services and further link them to a support groups.
